More and more tourists are choosing Wales as a holiday destination, according to the Welsh Tourist Board.
However, holidaymakers are being told that they should still consider obtaining holiday insurance even if they are only planning to travel within the UK, in order to safeguard themselves against cancellation or loss of belongings.
Welsh tourism operators have already reported a rise in visitor numbers and turnover compared with the same period in 2004.
It is also reported that 67 per cent of operators believe that that advance bookings for the summer are substantially higher than last year.
Jonathan Jones, chief executive of the Wales Tourist Board, said: "This survey shows that the vast majority of tourism businesses in Wales are far from complacent and have worked hard to ensure they are holding their own, if not improving upon past performance."
