A new intake of mediators should help to solve any home insurance related issues.
CEDR Solve, an independent mediation service of the not-for-profit Centre for Effective Dispute Resolution (CEDR), has appointed nearly 30 new mediators to help deal with the increase in disputes recent research shows a 35 per cent increase since 2003.
The CEDR Solve panel works throughout the UK and Europe and had around 100 mediators prior to this latest intake. The new members of the panel have been selected via a detailed selection process and come from a variety of industry backgrounds.
A total of 28 mediators have been appointed, with 22 trained as lawyers and a further 14 still practising law. The non-lawyers included members from the insurance, accountancy, surveying, human resources, property and construction.
"We are tremendously proud of the quality of the existing members of the CEDR Solve panel, who have created a high bar by which newcomers are judged," said Dr Karl Mackie, the chief executive of CEDR.
He added: "The number and diversity of backgrounds in our latest intake tells the real story to clients of the innovation and professionalism CEDR brings to the market."
