Cardiff has finished bottom of a list of the most car-friendly cities in the UK because of its high petrol prices and speed cameras.
The poll, conducted by Virgin Money Car Insurance, concluded that Cardiff was not an attractive place for motorists because of its low number of parking spaces, expensive long-term parking, high crime levels as well as the presence of speed cameras and costly pump prices.
This means that many of the capital's young drivers are being forced to find alternative and cheaper methods of transport.
The poll names the top city in the UK as Dundee, whilst London came third from bottom in the results.
Jason Wyer-Smith, of Virgin Money Car Insurance, said: "Every motorist will have their own complaints about their home town and its driving experience. There are bound to be drivers in Dundee who cannot believe their city is car-friendly just as there will be people in Cardiff who love driving there.
"However the research is an attempt to quantify what makes a town or city car-friendly and what doesn't. It should be a guide to people planning trips on what to expect," he added.
