Holidaymakers are being reminded to ensure they have packed all the vital accessories for a holiday this summer including the travel insurance.
Many travellers often forget to pack the most important things when it comes to jetting off to a sunny resort. Planning ahead and remembering to purchase sun cream, first aid essentials and holiday insurance cover could help to reduce hassle in the long run.
Those planning to travel within Europe should ensure they have an appropriate European Health Insurance Card (EHIC) from the Post Office. The card replaces the E111 health cover form and entitles the holder to a range of free or reduced cost medical treatment.
However, the EHIC is not the only protection needed by travellers. The card offers very limited healthcare cover and holidaymakers could still be forced to pay-out for their return to the UK or advanced medical treatment.
Instead, a valid holiday insurance policy could help to make sure these extra costs are covered as well as offering protection against possible holiday cancellation and lost or stolen belongings.
