More UK holidaymakers are choosing long haul destinations, according to the latest International Passenger Survey.
The survey shows that the total number of UK residents' visiting overseas during the twelve months ending in February 2005 increased by four per cent compared with a year earlier.
In particular, the figures highlighted a one per cent decrease in those travelling to Western Europe, whilst visits to North America increased by 16 per cent and visits to other parts of the world increased by a strong 24 per cent.
The research also revealed that total spending by UK residents overseas increased by one per cent.
