Travellers could enjoy the summer sun more this year by holidaying in exotic locations.
Research by the Royal Bank of Scotland suggests that holidaymakers could benefit from recent fluctuationsin the exchange rate at some unusual destinations.
Traditionally UK travellers favour the Euro Zone for their two-weeks in the sun, but resorts in Jamaica and Hong Kong could prove financially attractive.
Douglas Gowan, head of travel money for the Royal Bank of Scotland, said: "Over the last twelve months fluctuations in currency rates means that holiday makers could receive more for their Pound by travelling further afield.
"So, whilst the UK traveller may have less spending power with their Pound in some popular destinations, more distant shores may provide a cost effective change of scenery."
However, adventurous travellers are also being reminded to ensure their have sufficient holiday insurance for their trip.
