Snowboarding is the safest way to explore the slopes, according to new research.
AA Travel Insurance believe taking a snowboarding holiday is safer than a skiing one and is likely to mean less time spent in hospital. The different nature of snowboarding means that holiday makers are less likely to injury themselves or others on the piste.
"Provided snowboarders are properly equipped, their legs are tightly bound to the board and protected, which leaves less opportunity for the flailing limb injuries which often happen with skiers," says Alison Crossley, head of AA Travel Insurance.
"Boarding uses different skills and is also a slower way to cruise down the slopes, which leaves less chance for high speed crashes and collisions with other people," she added.
