Even though Brits like to try the local food whilst on holiday, around 2.8 million tins of baked beans will also be taken abroad by holidaymakers this year.
Research from website Hotels.com reveals that Brits still like a few home comforts when travelling overseas, even though they hope to learn more abut different cultures.
A total of 90 per cent of holidaymakers reported they enjoyed experiencing different lifestyles but around a third insisted they could not give up their regular cup of tea hence almost 22 million tea bags will be stashed into their luggage.
A quarter said they prefer British chocolate rather than the darker European bars and 13 per cent jetted off to Spain and Greece with a pot of Marmite in tow.
Alison Couper, spokeswoman for Hotels.com, said the survey showed the Brits are a "nation of discerning travellers throughout the world" who have successfully abandoned the "'Brits abroad' stereotype" of old.
"Although it may take us a little longer to leave our teabags, Marmite and Mars bars at home," she added.
However, anyone planning a break this year is being reminded to make sure they pack appropriate holiday insurance cover to protect them against unforeseen medical treatment, lost or stolen belongings and possible cancellations.
