British men should make sure their expensive bag contents are covered by holiday insurance.
Specialist insurer Hiscox estimates that the average UK male carries around £1,000 in possessions on a regular basis but that many are forgetting to check if their insurance will pay out if anything happens to their bags.
The growing popularity of gadgets such as ipods and mobile phones means that more men are choosing to carry a "man-bag" which can house their collection of on-the-move devices.
"You need to look at the small print of your insurance policy to check whether your goods are covered when you take them out of the home," said Kevin Kerridge of Hiscox.
He added: "At Hiscox, we are seeing an increase in the number of claims from men relating to lost and stolen bags. The message is clear that these events are becoming more common and people should ensure that they have adequate cover."
