Brits planning a trip this summer are being reminded to purchase adequate holiday insurance to protect against unexpected medical treatment costs.
Two weeks in the sun means that many holidaymakers enjoy a break from their normal routine, however, this can mean bodies are subjected to a wider range of activities.
In particular, the British Chiropractic Association (BCA) has raised concerns that holiday pursuits such as swimming, bungee-jumping and lifting heavy suitcases could damage backs.
BCA chiropractor Tim Hutchful said: "While holidays are on the whole seen as relaxing and rejuvenating, only too frequently we see people who have done themselves an injury while away.
"And it doesn't have to be adventurous activities like bungee-jumping - just picking up a suitcase the wrong way, trying out the hotel gym equipment without proper instruction or even just driving, can lead to serious discomfort," reports the 50connect website.
Travellers are reminded that searching and purchasing online holiday insurance is often easy and affordable.
