A new holiday insurance policy could help to cover a gap in the insurance market by providing increased cover to travellers.
WorldAssure's new policy will insure against potential terrorist attacks as well as cover any pre-existing health conditions, reports the Observer. The recent instability of many overseas countries means that all travellers should ensure they have appropriate holiday insurance for their trip.
The holiday insurance, underwritten by Lloyds of London, will cover costs associated with getting travellers back home if they are hurt or cover the potential repatriation of victims' bodies.
James Kindleysides, WorldAssure's managing director, said: "Most people don't give it a second thought, but those who do assume that their travel insurance will cover the cost of an accident, injury or death while overseas."
"But in the case of death it just isn't true," he added.
The company estimate that around 5,000 British travellers are killed each year and many do not have appropriate holiday insurance.
