Anyone planning a trip on the new Indian high-speed train to the Taj Mahel is being advised not to leave their holiday insurance cover to the last minute.
The Shatabdi Express train will connect Delhi and Bhopal and is expected to reach around 75mph meaning that tourists will be able to visit the Taj Mahal in less than two hours from the capital city.
The train is based on a German design and will offer travellers reclining chairs and specially catered food as well as luxury on-board toilet facilities.
"You don't have a train like this in the whole subcontinent," said Rajiv Saxena, the spokesman for operator Northern Railway.
The train also has a high-tech climbing device that will reduce the chances of being involved in a collision with another train. However, anyone planning a trip to India is being advised to check they have sufficient holiday insurance in case they are involved in an accident and require emergency medical treatment. The insurance cover will also help to protect against theft or loss of any personal belongings.
The Shatabdi Express will operate six days a week except on Fridays when the Taj Mahal is closed to the public.
