Anyone inspired by the recent TV show "I'm a Celebrity" should consider holiday insurance before they fly off to the jungle.
New research conducted by Norwich Union Travel reveals that many Brits are keen to experience adventure packed holidays rather than opt for a sunbathing vacation with 42 per cent wanting to take a trip that would include rainforest canopy walking and jungle camping.
British travellers are also keen to try out some of the local cuisine and over 58 per cent claim they would quite happily sample more unusual delicacies such as cockroaches, snakes or grasshoppers.
However, planning a trip to more exotic locations can also increase the risk of disease and possible injury so people are advised to ensure they have the appropriate holiday insurance cover before leaving the UK.
Dawn McMullan at Norwich Union Travel Insurance said: "While shows such as Im A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here often prompt people to try out what they have seen on TV, its important to be aware of the risks involved and be properly insured.
"Kimberley Davies unfortunate accident highlighted the need to be aware of the risks involved in taking part in adventure activities and, of course, to be properly insured in case anything does go wrong. It can be the difference between a minor drama and a major crisis," she added.
