For the thousands of Brits expected to jet off abroad this World Cup summer, holiday insurance should be an important consideration.
While there may be an army of UK football fans heading to Germany in the coming months, masses of Brits are also expected to head off to other destinations in search of some sunshine during the tournament season.
Research from Halifax Travel Insurance shows that countries such as Spain, Turkey and Greece are likely to see an influx of British football fans in their English bars this summer as those without tickets seek out some sunny weather in which to enjoy the matches.
Four in five Brits will watch the World Cup while on holiday, Halifax said. Some 42 per cent of those heading abroad have even chosen a country or resort, or arranged their flights, specifically to allow them to follow all the action.
"It's very interesting to see how the World cup is shaping how Britons holiday this year," said Halifax Travel Insurance's Vicky Emmott.
"Many die-hard fans are carefully researching the resort, accommodation and even flight times to make sure that they can watch the big games."
Brits going away on holiday this World Cup season, whether it be Germany or elsewhere, should make sure they have full holiday insurance cover to protect against theft, illness and other eventualities.
