Travel company Travelocity is urging holidaymakers to think about taking environmentally friendly trips.
The company has produced a list of the top ten so-called "Eco Travel" destinations as part of the forthcoming Earth Day celebrations.
The various locations enable tourists to witness and contribute to important projects that are attempting to preserve some of the world's most stunning settings.
"Ecotourism has become a major trend in travel," said Travelocity editor Amy Ziff.
"Destinations around the world have embraced this concept, and are encouraging travellers to minimize their environmental impact while on the road."
The top ten holiday spots include a number of South American destinations such as Ecuador, Costa Rica and the Galapagos Islands as well as National Parks in Cambodia and Thailand.
