Employees are being urged to make sure they take all of their holiday entitlement as part of a TUC campaign to tackle the UK's long work hour environment.
The union is hoping to encourage workers that they need to ensure they take proper lunch breaks and holiday time in order to maintain the correct balance between work and leisure time.
The campaign is also hoping to highlight that some companies are taking advantage of staff and refusing to offer them the correct holiday and break entitlement.
Richard Smith, employment services director at Croner, speaking to PersonnelToday, believes that employers also need to double check that staff are not working long hours or missing their annual holiday time.
"Employers should be addressing the root cause of the long-hours culture - and meeting their 'duty of care' to employees - by looking out for the signs of stress and taking action to reduce its cause.
"Employers should also monitor annual leave to ensure employees are taking their all-important holiday time to unwind and de-stress," Mr Smith added.
