Don't forget the holiday insurance

The forthcoming holiday season means that many families will be jetting off for two weeks in the sun; however, many homeowners forget to double check if their insurance is up-to-date.
A study by Moneyextra suggests that many people neglect to ensure their home is secure before leaving for warmer climes, even though the latest British Crime Survey shows that three in every 100 homes are broken into each year.
Travellers should check their current home insurance cover is up-to-date and covers all of their possessions especially if they have made large purchases since taking out the policy.
Last minute packing and shopping can often detract attention away from vital home repair jobs but people are advised to make sure that all windows and doors are secure locked and that potential burglars are not given easy access.
In addition, insurance is vital for the holiday itself - shopping around for the best deal could lead to substantial savings and regular travellers should consider purchasing multi-trip cover to ensure they are sufficiently protected.
