A new survey commissioned by Privilege Insurance shows that around four million people this summer will drive whilst over the limit. Despite a number of high-profile campaigns, 23 per cent of motorists admit to driving under the influence of alcohol.
"The research findings reveal that drink driving is still a serious problem in the UK. Many drivers do not realise the danger of driving under the influence of alcohol - even one pint of beer can lead to impaired judgement on the roads and motor accidents," warned Privilege Insurance managing director Ian Parker.
Mr Parker added that drink driving results in motorists being unable to control a car and increase the chances of being involved in a collision.
