That's the conclusion reached by new research by Churchill Car Insurance, which tried to establish a link between certain names and certain popular makes of car.
According to the research, the typical Ford Mondeo man is called Rodney, Laurence or Julian, while Bernard, Karl and Vincent go for the Vauxhall Vectra.
On the ladies' side, if your name is Joyce, Beryl or Doreen you're likely to drive a Nissan Micra, whilst Audrey, Kate and Laura sit behind the wheel of a Ford Fiesta.
"It seems that there is a link between the names that parents give their children and the type of car they go on to choose as an adult," said Darren McCauley, head of Churchill Car Insurance.
"Whether we get our first car at 17 or 77, it does seem that it is names that drive our choice of car."
