Cars in London and Glasgow have been vandalised as part of a forthcoming art exhibition.
Mark McGowan, an artist based in London, used his house keys to scratch 17 randomly selected vehicles parked near Glasgow's Botanic Gardens and another 30 cars in the Camberwell region of London.
The photographs of the vandalised cars will form part of Glasgow International, the city's first commissioned festival of contemporary visual art.
Mr McGowan admitted that he does feel guilty about his actions, adding: "I know some people will just call it vandalising cars but I think it's art. "My feeble excuses are that if I didn't do it then somebody else would and that the people who have had their cars keyed have taken part in an art project."
A spokeswoman for Strathclyde Police confirmed that they have not had any reports of cars being scratched but added that anyone who finds their car the target of any vandalism should report the matter to the local police.
